Tottenham Court Walk is a new shopping and leisure destination by Derwent london, moments from London’s transport network and Oxford Street itself.
This reimagined stretch of ten retail and restaurant units on Tottenham Court Road continues the extension of the West End’s shopping district eastward in time for the arrival of Crossrail in 2018.
Designed to rejuvenate this stretch of Tottenham Court Road, these redeveloped units offer retailers impact, light and space. The existing exterior colonnade has been brought into the interior space, giving each unit a fully glazed, double-height entrance and creating a ribbon of glass that curves around the corners of each block for a dynamic and inviting façade. Each unit includes a mezzanine level with a generous floor to ceiling height, whilst units in the south block boast a third lower ground level for additional retail or ancillary space.

They are committed to improving congestion and air quality and plan to convert the one way system of Tottenham Court Road and Gower Street for two-way traffic. There are currently 135,940 workers within half a kilometre, with an average retail expenditure that’s almost 50% higher than the UK norm. Worker densities along some parts of Tottenham Court Road currently exceed 225,000 workers per square mile, with a total footfall in 2014 of 18.4 million. In addition, the same area is home to 25,000 residents with an expected population rise of 7.3% over the next five years. For retailers, this means a captive seven day trade.
A youthful academic population of over 160,000 students ensures there’s a higher percentage of people aged between 15 and 34 in the area than anywhere else in the UK.
*Retail turnover to the region is set to increase to £11.25 billion by 2020 (from £8.8 billion currently) and the area west of Oxford Circus, in close proximity to Bond Street and near Tottenham Court Road will see the largest gains.
